Where the Church lives...

I stand continually in awe of the commitment and compassion to justice shown by the parishes here in Southwest VA.  From thrift stores and food banks that serve entire communities, to that one individual that takes a meal to someone homebound, it is the parishioners’ tireless service to others that does indeed remind us that “The parish is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the gospel is proclaimed and celebrated, where believers are formed and sent to renew the earth.”

As you set out to be messengers of hope, renewing your communities, please know that the OJP is a resource and an advocate in these endeavors.  We invite you to share your stories of service, that we may all be encouraged and inspired to do more in our quest for justice and peace.
